AMC Renews Better Call Saul for Season 4: What Fans Can Expect

AMC has officially renewed its hit series Better Call Saul for a fourth season, with the prequel to Breaking Bad set to return in 2018. The show, which follows the transformation of ambitious attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) into the morally dubious Saul Goodman, will feature 10 new episodes.

The renewal, though anticipated, came later than expected. While season 2’s renewal was announced mid-season, the news for season 4 came after the dramatic season 3 finale aired on June 19, which attracted 3.7 million viewers in Live+3 ratings. This marked a slight dip compared to the 4.4 million viewers for the season 2 finale.

Season 3 brought Better Call Saul closer to the Breaking Bad timeline, thrilling fans with the return of iconic characters like Gustavo Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito), one of the most memorable villains in television history. The season ended on a shocking note as Jimmy’s brother Chuck (Michael McKean) succumbed to his mental struggles, taking his own life by setting his home ablaze.

Despite the challenges, the series continues to shine. With an average of 3.6 million viewers per episode in season 3, it has garnered multiple Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series for seasons 1 and 2. Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks have also received individual nods for their standout performances.

Created by Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan and executive producer Peter Gould, Better Call Saul stars a stellar cast that includes Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, and Michael Mando.

As fans eagerly await season 4, the series promises to delve deeper into Jimmy’s dark evolution while bridging the gap to the Breaking Bad era. Stay tuned for updates on one of television’s most compelling dramas.
