Republican Fundraising Challenges in California Congressional Races: A Closer Look
Several Republican incumbents in California face uphill battles in their congressional races, with some reportedly struggling to keep pace in fundraising efforts, according to a detailed analysis by the Los Angeles Times.
While certain representatives have substantial campaign funds, others lag behind, signaling potential vulnerabilities in the upcoming elections. For example, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), who is contending with at least 10 challengers, reported $406,616 in campaign funds at the end of the quarter. Among his challengers, businessman Harley Rouda has shown strong momentum, raising $177,974 during the same period.
Rep. Steve Knight (R-Calif.) also faces stiff competition. Knight ended June with $433,301 in his campaign war chest, while two of his challengers, Bryan Caforio and Katie Hill, reported $175,635 and $173,299, respectively.
